This is a picture of Leah with Eric, the Children's Pastor from our church. One of her school teachers came out and prayed too with her daughter. I'm so thankful that my daughter has these godly people in her life.
A picture of some of the kids praying around the flagpole. Another area children's pastor and quite a few parents were also there to support the kids.

Last Sunday Leah went with other 5th and 6th graders from church to deliver these beautiful plants to an area nursing home. The kids brought the plants in and decorated the pots and made cards. They walked into the rooms at the nursing home and talked with the residents and prayed and left each of them with a pretty plant for their room. This was part of September Serve at our church.
The theme verse for See You at the Pole this year was:
I Timothy 4:12 Do not let anyone treat you as if you are unimportant because you are young. Instead be an example to the believers with your words, your actions, your love, your faith, and your pure life.
I witnessed so many kids being great examples by their faith and actions this week. They are such a blessing.

Thanks for the post! It was great to see that this is still being practiced! God bless!
I drove up to my school in the bus and saw the kids at the pole. There were about 25 of them!!! Awesome, huh!! My girls did this every year!
This was the scripture for the youth group my daughter went to before we moved. It was actually called Club 412 after this verse. So neat to see the young ones not ashamed of the gospel!
Neat Joy.... I remember doing all of those activities with the teens when I worked at Clear Lake. We had the "See you at the Pole" also---and we took plants to the shut-in's and nursing homes. I'm so glad that your girls are involved with their church ---in the community and at school.
Hugs,
Betsy
OK so now I need to go get a kleenex. Awesome post!
This is so a beautiful post !! Lovely.
I had not heard of that, probably would not be allowed in Canada's public schools maybe it was done in the Christian schools. Nice post and good that the girls are involved with something like this
What a lovely thing to take to a seniors' home. I wish you lived close to me Mither!
that makes me SMILE... we had pray for peace day this week with pin wheels lined along the front of the school. Love the flag pole prayer time!!!

It is great to see the kids gathering and praying.
What a great gift for the seniors. I bet they loved the plants.
I remember that verse back from when I was a teenager... :)
Gil doesn't have any flagpole at his school!!
Oh Joy, that is wonderful to see! I knew that we prayed at the pole in Australia, and am surprised you're allowed to in the USA. I'm really glad you are!
It's nice to see that faith isn't shut away out of sight and out of mind. And I'n glad your kids have such good ocmpanions.
What a great tradition! It is so comforting to know that our kids have such great role models to help us parent them!
I love the idea of taking flowers to the nursing home. :-)
Your daughter is awesome!
What a wonderful post about ALL good stuff!!!! God is still on His throne never been a doubt about that, even in the midst of the problems that our country and world are facing.

i love this post... that is so awesome to see, I forget about SYATP living over here... and I remember doing it as a student and kids in our movement doing it when we worked with youth in the states before coming here.... such a great event! Praise God for those little witnesses!

Thank you, always, for your comments on my writings, which are always appreciated. We have been devastated over here by the fury of typhoon Ondoy. Our flood gates on the cliff where we live were broken by the marikina river below, and we have to sit and wait now for a new typhoon set to hit in 2-3 days. All the people on the other side of the river, they are just all gone right now...its just too devastating...
