Meet Tanner

bosco and his new family 2

On Saturday our family went to look at a couple of dogs at a local rescue and this little guy stole our hearts.  He is approximately one year old and was found wandering the streets.  He was very matted, dirty and covered in fleas.   The rescue cleaned him up and groomed him as best they could.

He is a Miniature Schnauzer.  We named him Tanner because he is brown and tan.  Brown coloring is pretty rare in Schnauzers.  I’ve never seen one anyway.  He is adjusting wonderfully.   He is so sweet.  He has some healing to do from all the flea bites and I’m sure he wishes I would leave him alone.   I believe he thinks that  all I do is bathe, brush and check him.   I’ve been walking him around the neighborhood and he’s meeting his new dog and people friends.  The first night he slept all night without a peep in his crate.  He loves to be near us, but doesn’t understand toys.  This is our first experience with a male dog, so we’re getting use to that.

Just had to introduce you to our new little guy. I’ll get more pictures up of him soon.

♥  Joy

Great photo - but no text downloaded on any part of your blog - only little square boxes - just wondering why. No problem with other blogs.

Our Jake was a rescue dog also. They always turn out to be the best dogs ever.

I am delighted to hear about Tanner! It was just this morning that I was wondering how you are getting on without your dear Libby. I was planning to log on today and email you to ask. And now I see a photo of such a happy family with their new little dog! Libby will never be replaced, I understand that, but how wonderful to have a Tanner to love.

Isn't he wonderful! I'm sure our dog feels exactly the same about me - always combing, treating, dosing... She's been unwell this summer and associates me with all the worst treatments!

Have you heard from Vicky, your Magazine Swap partner yet?

What a beautiful family!! It's so awesome to adopt and give a sweet dog a good home.

Our girl, Neesha, was a rescue dog and she's the love of our lives. She came to us with one leg that is just scar tissue. The vet thinks she was caught in a trap, if you can imagine. We found her at a Husky rescue farm that had so many dogs I couldn't even count. All our dogs have come from rescue and they do tend to be very emotionally needy, but very loyal once they realize how loved they are and that they are in their forever home.

Joy, you are so very blessed. Big Hugs, Marla
