My Buds

Spring is definitely in motion here in my neck of the woods. I took a stroll thru my yard this week and snapped a few pictures of buds I found ready to burst. From the top is one of my geranium plant. Geraniums are my all time favorite plant. Next picture is the hydrangea bush. It usually give us a few really nice pink blooms each year. In the middle are my green bell pepper plant that has two buds on it that I'm hoping will turn into bell peppers. Then the all time favorite southern shrub...the azalea. The bushes are loaded and I enjoy them in my yard for a short time each spring. The bottom row is a spirea bush (aka bridal wreath). I have 5 of these planted around the yard. I love these in the spring. Then last but not least is my little redbud tree. It puts off a pretty flower then turns to green leaves each spring. I'm worried about it this year. It doesn't look healthy. We lost a large Bradford Pear to a disease last year.

I am not the type of gardener that fusses over my plants. They are kind of on their own once they are in the ground so whatever buds and blooms I get to enjoy are by the grace of God. I'll take more pictures when everything starts blooming.

Winter still has her cold grip on PNW gardens... at least it does on mine. There is a tiny bit of progress in the herb garden, but nothing to get excited about. What a delight to see that your buds are set to burst, mine yet slumber.

Thanks for your visit to my blog. I'm glad you liked the song. I was writing a comment on someone's blog and it popped into my mind. I had not heard it in a long time. I tried to find music for my playlist but only found a very short version.

We're having rain and expecting snow later today.
March is coming in here like a lion.
Blessings,
AliceE.

You're only about ten weeks ahead of us! But you're my kind of gardener.

Oh, I can't see any open blossoms on the geraniums! I don't know what they are, so I was hoping to see photos of them here! Oh well, I'll go google them...lol! :)

I like the little blue one on the bottom left... :)

Happy, happy spring for you and your family, Joy! :)

Lucky you ... to see signs of growth. We started to get a big melt today! Warm +8C with a warm wind!! Hopefully the melt doesn't happen TOO fast or it could be problematic.

We have a whole flowerbed of lovely yellow buttercups blessing us. Such a joy to see them each day.

I miss having a true spring. I have only ever experienced a true spring in Northern VA when I lived there for almost 5 years. We had azaleas and I loved seeing our bushes turn from green to entirely new colors...pink and white.
